Furry Brazilians: Naturally Looking Breasts with Less Complications

breast implantsPolyurethane Foam-Covered Silicone Gel Implants, commonly known as Furry Brazilians, are the most significant addition to the range of breast enhancement surgeries available today.

Silimed manufactures these types of implants in Brazil. Therapeutic Goods Administration, the Australian Government’s regulatory body, recently approved them. It means that Australian cosmetic surgeons can now offer them to all their patients in need of quality breast implants.

History

Furry Brazilians are not new. In fact, they were first introduced in the 70s and were first coined as Ashley Implants. Like all silicone gel implants, Polyurethane foam implants have been improved over the years. Today, Furry Brazilians have the same cohesive gel as other breast implants.

Since the 1970s, there have been more than 60 research papers published in journals worldwide about the use of Polyurethane foams. According to these studies, these types of implants are safe to use and can also reduce the rate of capsular contracture.

Capsular Contracture

All types of breast implants are surrounded by a fibrous envelope known as the ‘capsule’. When this thin, normally undetectable soft fibrous envelope shrinks and contracts, Capsular Contracture occurs. It compresses the implants and makes the breast feel firmer. There are also cases where it distorts the breasts’ shape. To correct this, a revision surgery is necessary.

In contrast, Furry Brazilians have a dramatically lower risk of Capsular Contracture. According to Dr. Neal Handel, Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles, the Contracture rate after all kinds of breast augmentation is dramatically lower with Polyurethane Foam-Covered Silicone Gel Implants than with textured or smooth implants.

Safety

Polyurethane foam implants have been used in thousands of women for four decades. Extensive studies about Furry Brazilians show that they’re safe to use. The only exception to this is the temporary rash in one percent of patients that will last for about one to two weeks. Furry Brazilian implants can also minimise the risk of complications.

Myths

Many people think that once Furry Brazilians are in, you can’t possibly remove them. You also need a bigger incision, and it’s too difficult to put in. There are a number of operative videos that prove them wrong.

Many women choose to surgically enhance their breasts for a number of reasons. If you want further information about these implants, consult your local cosmetic surgeon.
