When the Love is Gone: Falling out of Love

Falling in love a wonderful thing, but making it last forever isn’t easy. When love fades, most couples just split up or resort to divorce. Here are some of the common reasons people fall out of love:

Good communication is the key to building a good relationship; the lack of it can surely ruin a couple. Unresolved conflicts, unexpressed feelings, or unspoken affirmations make you and your partner distant, which will affect how you feel for each other.

Betrayal

Dishonesty can deeply change how someone feels about their partner. If you have discovered that your partner cheated on you or behaved in a manner that is inconsistent with whom you thought they really were, it can cause irreparable damage to the relationship. Infidelity, for instance, is one of the most common reasons couples ask the help of divorce attorneys.

Unmet Expectations

In the beginning of a relationship, it might seem easy to accommodate your partner’s needs and wants. Eventually, one or both of you may stop doing so. In some cases, partners just go by themselves and not care for the other.

No Solid Foundation

A solid foundation is important for a relationship to last. If it started poorly, moved too fast, or was a product of an affair, it is likely not strong enough to withstand relationship obstacles. Good relationships take time, effort, and energy.

Jealousy

While some people consider jealousy as a sign of affection and commitment, it isn’t really a sign of a healthy relationship; it may signal an unhealthy need for control. It may restrict, control, or manipulate a person’s behavior and choices. When an overwhelming jealousy takes over your relationship, trust and love eventually fade.

No one enters into relationship with the thought of falling out of love. While breaking up or consulting a divorce attorney in Long Island is the last option for a troubled relationship, it may also be the right option to start a new and better life.
